Neil focuses his practice on commercial litigation and arbitration. He aims to provide clear, pragmatic advice and decisive advocacy. He frequently accepts instructions in complex disputes involving commercial contracts, property, construction, telecommunications, and group litigation.
He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators with considerable experience of arbitration proceedings and related court appeals. He is available for arbitral appointments via the FDRS.
Neil is WS Signet Accredited in Commercial Litigation and brings substantial insight from his time in leading private practice law firms and his in-house experience with a Danish global leader in renewable energy. Recent work includes:
•COMMERCIAL/BREACH OF CONFIDENCE: Obtained an interim interdict in the Outer House to prevent disclosure of confidential information by competitor company.
•CONSTRUCTION: Achieved commercially favourable settlement of six-figure breach of contract claim for building contractor over alleged defective construction.
•TELECOMMUNICATIONS: Acted for telecommunications infrastructure provider to obtain new Code agreements in the Lands Tribunal for Scotland.
•COMPANY LAW: Successfully defended seller for alleged breach of indemnity in a Share Purchase Agreement in the Sheriff Court.

On Tower UK Limited v McLean (No.2) [2024] LTS 26
Appeared at Proof for the Applicant, a telecoms infrastructure provider, and persuaded the Lands Tribunal to accept most of the Applicant’s proposed terms for a new Code agreement with the Respondents. The consideration ultimately determined by Tribunal was significantly less than sought by the Respondents.
