Caitlin called to the Bar in 2025 as a Faculty Scholar and Lord Hope Scholar.
Caitlin specialises in commercial litigation and public and administrative law. She has broad expertise in commercial disputes, including contractual disputes, company law and shareholder disputes, insolvency matters, professional liability disputes, financial services litigation, real estate and construction disputes and asset recovery. She also has particular expertise in public procurement disputes and experience in advising on public and administrative law matters generally, including the conduct of judicial review proceedings and professional disciplinary proceedings. In addition, she has experience in dealing with contentious trusts and executries.
Caitlin has a keen interest in defamation and communications law, having tutored in International Media Law and Politics (Masters) at the University of Edinburgh. She also has an interest in intellectual property and environmental law and gained further substantive experience across each of these areas during her devilling.
Prior to calling, Caitlin spent six years as a commercial litigator at leading international law firms, dealing with cases which were often complex, multi-jurisdictional and/or high value. She has conducted litigation in courts at all levels across Scotland and has experience in Alternative Dispute Resolution, including mediation and arbitration. Her years in private practice include time spent within a Tier-1 litigation team at a leading international law firm in Jersey.
Caitlin is also a tutor in Company and Commercial Law at the University of Edinburgh.

As solicitor. Acting for the pursuer in professional negligence proceedings raised in respect of construction and design defects at Inverness Airport, seeking over £1 million in damages.

Assisted in one of Scotland’s most high-profile bankruptcies by acting for the joint trustees in bankruptcy of Gregory King (former director of Heather Capital hedge fund) in relation to the identification and recovery of assets across multiple jurisdictions following an alleged multi-million-pound fraud, which involved conducting multiple sets of proceedings in the Court of Session and latterly raising proceedings in Gibraltar.
