Criminal Appeal Court Live

Arnot Manderson’s Sarah Loosemore is set to appear for the appellant in tomorrow’s Criminal Appeal Court livestream. This is the second livestream since the initiative began on the 29th August 2025.

The Appeal Court of the High Court of Justiciary livestreamed their first appeal on the 29th August 2025. The initiative to livestream regularly from the Criminal Appeal Court follows the success of Civil Court livestreaming in the Court of Session, launched in June 2023.

The initiative hopes to strengthen the principle of open justice, public confidence in the rule of law and allows a wider audience, including complainers, media, academics and students, to follow proceedings without attending in person.

The second of such livestreams will take place tomorrow on the 25th September 2025 at 10.30am where Arnot Manderson’s Sarah Loosemore will be appearing for the appellant.

Sarah has developed a particularly strong practice in criminal appeals and extradition matters. She has been involved in many of the most significant criminal appeals in Scotland in recent years. She was instructed as junior counsel to the Respondent in Lord Advocate’s Reference No. 1 of 2023 and Lord Advocate’s Reference No. 3 of 2023. She was also instructed as junior counsel in the Supreme Court appeal in ADK v HMA regarding the application of rape shield protections in criminal trials.

Tomorrow’s livestream along with previous recordings can be found on the Scottish Courts and Tribunal Service website here.
