Jonathan Deans appears as ad-hoc Advocate Depute

On Monday, the 15th August, Jonathan Deans, pictured below, of Arnot Manderson Advocates appeared in the High Court in front of Lord Weir for a brief procedural hearing in a proceeds of crime case. He appeared for the Crown as an ad-hoc Advocate Depute. This is significant as, at age 27, Jonathan is believed to be the youngest person to appear as an Advocate Depute in modern history.

Practice Manager Andrew Sutherland said “It is an honour for an Advocate to be asked to represent the Crown at any stage of their career but for Jonathan to appear in this role at such a young age and so soon after calling to the Bar is a real vote of confidence in his ability.  I’m certain his career will continue to go from strength to strength.”
