An opinion issued today by Lord Brailsford in the case James Stephen v Dorothy Thomson Melville and Alistair Melville highlights success for Gavin Dewar, advocate. Gavin acted on behalf of Mr and Mrs Melville who were being sued by the trustees of CGM and SMM for 2 million euros placing reliance on a loan document which, after proof, was found to have been a forged document. Gavin’s clients were assoilzied.
