The Sheriff’s determination in the Fatal Accident Inquiry into the death which occurred at care home in Inverness has been published. Evidence was led at Inverness Sheriff Court last year as to the circumstances of the death of an elderly resident following prolonged illness. The Inquiry examined issues relative to the organisation and management of care and the discharge process between care providers and the NHS.  Simon Crabb, Advocate, acted on behalf of the Barchester Health Care. The Sheriff made formal findings in terms of Section 6(1) (a) and (b) of the Fatal Accident and Sudden Deaths Inquiry (Scotland) Act 1976.
