High Praise and Top Rankings for AM Advocates

Arnot Manderson Advocates is delighted to report the remarkable achievement of thirty individual Rankings (including thirteen in Band 1) across thirteen separate Practice Areas in the recently announced Chambers and Partners listings.  As well as the haul of individual Rankings Arnot Manderson has achieved stable wide recognition in Tax (Band 1), Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence – a highly impressive showing for Scotland’s largest full service stable.

Andrew Young QC with five individual rankings is noted as one of Scotland’s “Stars at the Bar”.  His rankings cover, Clinical Negligence, Commercial Dispute Resolution, Tax, Personal Injury and Professional Negligence.  Other seniors with multiple rankings include Jonathan Mitchell QC in Administrative & Public Law, Civil Liberties & Human Rights and Family/Matrimonial and Iain Mitchell QC in Public Procurement, Intellectual Property and IT where he is described as “The leader in this field in Scotland”.

The Stable continues to collect Rankings in a diverse set of Practice Areas and typifying this across the board strength are the eight stable members with Rankings in multiple fields.  Besides the afore mentioned seniors they are Gerry Hanretty QC and the newly elected MP and SNP spokesperson for Justice, Joanna Cherry QC as well as juniors Gordon Balfour, Arabella Tait and Neil Mackenzie.

In the Family/Matrimonial field the Stable continues to boast the most Ranked QC’s and where Marie Clark – “a formidable advocate who can fight a strong case when needed.” – joins Silks Kate Dowdalls QC and Jonathan Mitchell QC in achieving Band 1 recognition.

There was also high praise for the experienced clerking team who are “particularly good at giving honest advice as to what experience their Advocates have got. You can say exactly what you want and they won’t try to sell you someone that doesn’t have that experience”

Andrew Sutherland, Practice Manager at Arnot Manderson said: “I am delighted that the latest edition of the Chambers and Partners Rankings confirms our position as a leading full service stable.  The number of individual rankings across such a wide range of practice areas serves, once again, to highlight the strength and scope of expertise available within the Stable.”
