Top Rankings and High Praise for AM Advocates

Arnot Manderson Advocates is delighted to report the remarkable achievement of twenty four individual Rankings (including twelve in Band 1) across twelve separate Practice Areas in the latest Chambers and Partners listings announced at the end of last week.  As well as the haul of individual Rankings Arnot Manderson has achieved stable wide recognition in the Clinical Negligence category and for Tax (Band 1) – a highly impressive showing for Scotland’s largest full service stable.

In the Family and Matrimonial field the Stable has more Ranked QC’s than any other Stable and our pre-eminence here was reaffirmed by the success of the Stable’s recent Family Law Conferences, delivered to sold out audiences of solicitors and instructing agents in Glasgow and Perth.  Silks Kate Dowdalls QC, who leads the AM Family Law Group, and Jonathan Mitchell QC both achieved Band 1 recognition in the Family/Matrimonial category and this follows an number of notable appearances at the Supreme Court by the members of the Group, including Marie H. Clark who is also Ranked in the category.

In relation to Tax the stable is described as “one of the most respected stables in Scotland” and “This stable is home to a large group of experienced tax advocates, and its members advise on a great variety of matters that require specialist tax knowledge”.  Roddy Thomson QC is noted as “The go-to counsel when dealing with complex and unusual cases”.  David Small, Advocate is described as “ responsive, supportive and practical” with “Clients impressed and reassured by the solid advice he gives”.  Also ranked in the Tax category is Andrew Young QC who boasts individual Rankings across a highly impressive five Practice Area including Personal Injury, Professional Negligence, Clinical Negligence and Commercial Dispute Resolution.

The Stable continues to collect Rankings in a diverse set of Practice Areas and typifying this across the board strength are the five counsel with Rankings in multiple fields.  Besides Andrew Young QC they are Jonathan Mitchell QC, Iain Mitchell QC, Arabella Tait, Advocate and Stable Director Gerry Hanretty QC.
