Andrew Stewart QC appointed to Guernsey Financial Services Regulator panel

Andrew Stewart QC has been appointed to a key role with the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, the regulatory body for the financial services sector in Guernsey.

He is a member of a panel of experts comprising leading UK based Queen’s Counsel who will sit as “Senior Decision Makers” and determine the outcome of the Commission’s major enforcement cases.  If he finds cases are proven he will determine what penalties should be imposed, including the level of fine and any period of disqualification from practising in the industry, and will agree the contents of any public statement that is to be issued by the Commission.

The other members appointed to the panel are Malcolm Davis-White QC, Richard Millett QC, Leigh-Ann Mulcahy QC and Nicholas Peacock QC, all of the English bar.
