Practice Profile

Stephen was appointed a full-time Advocate Depute in March 2013. He now prepares and prosecutes High Court cases.

In his busy practice, Stephen has maintained an interest in the commercial, banking, family and taxation matters in which he engaged in his early career. Stephen has received instructions in these and other areas of interest, appearing in the Court of Session and in Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland. He has been instructed as junior counsel for the Crown in a number of high profile, long running and complex criminal cases.

As a litigation solicitor, Stephen advised clients on matrimonial and family law and general legal issues. He also dealt with criminal matters. Prior to entering the legal profession, Stephen qualified and worked for PwC as a Chartered Accountant. Conducting audits of a diverse range of clients including large listed plcs, industrial manufacturing clients and pension schemes contributed to Stephen's considerable business acumen.
