Practice Profile

Lachlan (Lachie) views the Faculty as serving throughout Scotland. Correspondingly, the vast proportion of his work is at first instance, advising and representing pursuers and defenders (both privately funded and in receipt of legal aid). Significant portions of Lachie's litigation career have been focused in a substantial number of areas. His main continuous areas of involvement have been in family law, property litigation (including boundary and servitude right disputes), contract litigation, commercial and domestic leases, and employment law. As a consequence of his work in the Sheriffdom of Grampian, Highland and Islands, Lachie has also had significant experience in the application of crofting law. He has provided opinions in a wide range of areas from education law to the funding of care costs.
