Practice Profile

Jane is an accomplished civil litigator, with considerable experience across most areas. Her particular expertise lies in personal injury and professional and clinical negligence. Among the matters in which Jane has been instructed are employers’ liability, occupiers’ liability and industrial diseases. Acting for both pursuers and defenders, Jane has appeared in the Court of Session (Inner and Outer House) and in the Sheriff Court as well as at mediation.

Between 2010 and 2015 she was junior counsel to the recently concluded public inquiry into infected blood and blood products chaired by the Right Honourable Lord Penrose.

Her ongoing commitment as a convener of the Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland goes back to 2004.
In April 2015 she was appointed as In-house convener of the Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland.
