We look forward to you joining us for a short talk on the implications of “Brexit” (for which CPD will be awarded), and thereafter a drinks reception. We wish to mark the beginning of the Legal Year and express our thanks for the support you have given to us in previous years.

Whilst the implications of “Brexit” are as yet being considered, this is a year in which all legal practitioners will wish to consider some of the issues that may arise and how they may affect our practice in the law, whilst at the same earning some CPD prior to a drink and some canapés.

We are delighted to welcome as our guest speaker Dr Tobias Lock, Senior Lecturer in European Union Law from the University of Edinburgh where he is co-director of the Europa Institute and directs the LLM in European Law and LLM.

We propose that you should arrive at the Glass Extension entrance to the Usher Hall at 5.30 p.m. in order that we may start at 5.45 p.m. The talk will last about 45 minutes on the Usher Hall’s stage before we adjourn for drinks in the Glass Extension until about 8.30 p.m.

Should you not be able to arrive for 5.45 p.m., please feel free to join us as soon as you can – you are more than welcome to join us simply for drinks.
