AM Advocates – Four Seasons Seminar: Spring Edition

Arnot Manderson Advocates are delighted to announce the second instalment in a new series of quarterly seminars – The Four Seasons.   The focus of each seminar will be to provide useful, practical and expert insights into new developments in the law and legal practice. The “Spring” edition of the series is dedicated to three particularly hot legal topics and features talks designed by the Stable to give practical guidance from three of the most experienced and respected counsel currently at the Bar.

The Seminar will qualify for 2 hours of CPD.

Programme:

4:40pm to 5:00pm – Coffee and Registration.

5.00pm to 5.45pm – Colin MacAulay QC“Consent in Clinical Negligence Cases” - Following the decision of the UK Supreme Court in the Case of Montgomery v Lanarkshire Health Board, where he successfully appeared for the Appellant, Colin MacAulay QC discusses the far reaching consequences of this landmark ruling.

5:45pm to 6:15pm – Andrew Young QC“Compulsory Liability Insurance and Breach of Statutory Duty”  – Andrew Young will be discussing the Inner House’s decision in Campbell v Peter Gordon Joiners Ltd [2015] CSIH 11 which is under appeal to the Supreme Court. Andrew will be looking at some of the wider issues of breach of statutory duty which that case raises.

6:15pm to 6:40pm – Patricia Comiskey, Advocate“The Enterprise & Regulatory Reform Act 2013, Section 69”  – Patricia Comiskey will be discussing employer’s liability in civil cases following the introduction of Section 69.

6:40pm to 6:45pm – Andrew Sutherland, Practice Manager – A message from the AM Advocates clerking team.

6:45pm to 7:00pm – Question and Answer Session.
